Get to Know Ms.Kimberly Gary

Ms.Kim Gary grew up in Talmage, Ohio and has been teaching for 13 years. She is a proud mom of three children, twin boys and a daughter. She did not always plan on becoming a teacher. When she first started college, she was a biology major, hoping to become a pediatrician. However, her path eventually led her to her classroom, where she cannot imagine having any other job.

If Gary was not teaching, she believes she would likely do something creative, such as opening a ceramics studio or working in arts, something that reflects her love for art.

“I want kids to leave with a good idea of what school is like and enjoy being here,” Gary said. “I want them to know there is someone who cares about them.”

Gary credits her becoming a teacher to her fifth grade teacher who made a lasting impact on her. She has also always been passionate about art, which incorporates into her teaching. One of her favorite parts of her job? “Getting to play with mud all day,” Gary said.

Outside of school, Gary enjoys staying active by going to the gym. Much of her free time is spent driving around her three kids to their different activities.
