Gabriella Mathiellis, Editor and Chief
Gabriella has been a member of the Lantern since her Freshman year at Strongsville High School. Her passion for writing began in middle school when she joined the creative writing club. She then further pursued her interest in writing at the high school holding a staff position her freshman and sophomore year, a junior editor position her third year, and now leading the lantern as an editor and chief alongside two others as a senior. Throughout Gabriella’s high school years, she has participated in Key Club and served as a Student Council Representative as well as the String Orchestra Historian. She played soccer for the Lady Mustangs her freshman year and ran track, and participated in Cross Country her Sophomore year. In addition, Gabriella has been a member of Rho Kappa, the National English Honor Society, Girl Scouts, and GOYA (Greek Orthodox Youth Association). She enjoys all categories of writing and loves to read as well. She further plans to continue her education by studying interior design and double minoring in business and marketing. Gabriella said that her favorite part of high school was the lantern because it felt like a “home away from home,” where writers could gather together, discuss their very active school days, and produce content about all that was occurring at Strongsville High School.
