Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year for many reasons. Not only does it have the perfect blend of cool weather, exuberant sun, and pretty colors, it symbolizes the start of the holiday season! Families love to cherish their moments with loved ones and what better way to do it than to take part in fun activities? So here is a list of our top rated fall activities that can be enjoyed by all ages.

  1. Hiking –Fall colors are the highlight of the year for many. Cooler temperatures and gorgeous fall foliage make autumn the best time of year for hiking. Although you can trek all year round, there’s nothing quite like going when the leaves are changing and the scenery looks like something out of a Bob Ross painting. It is such an enjoyable experience and will definitely please everyone.
  2. Pumpkins –Pumpkin picking and going to pumpkin patches are so much fun and they give you the opportunity to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve out for halloween. Sure, you could go to any store and buy pumpkins there but what’s the real fun in that?
  3. Corn Maze –Corn Mazes are some of the most engaging activities you could do in fall whether it be physically or mentally. Each turn and twist has a different outcome so going with friends and family will for sure bring out the real entertainment. Just make sure you aren’t stranded alone or going in near sunset… for whatever reason there might be 😉
  4. Camping –Fall is the best time of year to go camping! Campgrounds are said to be far less crowded after labor day and the pests are mostly gone. Additionally, autumn is a fantastic time of year to be outside to enjoy the scenery and temperatures.
  5. Baking –Everyone loves food, especially desserts, and fall is the one season where the best flavors of food come out with the sweets. Pumpkin, cinnamon, apple, caramel, etc. The best way to spend a warm evening with family/friends is to bake away.
  6. Orchards/ Fruit Picking –Fruit picking is a very engaging and memorable experience to do with family. But the main reason why it’s so low on the list is because of the various downsides. Not only is it very expensive, but it also means that you’ll have baskets full of fruit, and you can only tolerate eating so much. So in the end, you’ll be left with a lot of rotting fruit that you paid excessive amounts to get. Honestly, who would want to spend $20 a person when you could make the same amount of dishes and treats with a $5 bag of fruit from the grocery store. Either way, many still love the vibe and memories that come out of it and I believe that it is truly a very cherishable experience.
  7. Hayrides –In general, people of all ages can enjoy hayrides, and there is really nothing bad about them except the constant uneasiness some may feel from the scratchy hay/straw.
  8. Raking –Last but not least, we have one of the most dreadful activities to do in the fall: raking. The task of raking leaves can take hours on end making it miserable for people and being considered a “chore” in most households. Obviously fall is a beautiful season filled with color but I guess it comes with a proper price.

On the whole, the autumn season is such an exuberant time of year and serves as a great opportunity to spend time with loved ones. It also indicates that the holidays are approaching and sets the mood for everything that comes with them. This list helps people get a general idea of the most famous activities performed in the fall but in the end, I believe that all activities performed in the fall can be enjoyed by everyone if it is done with the right company and attitude.
